Hi Group,

I recently formatted my laptop and now have 2 partitions. One with XP Home
(which I thought I could use) and XP Pro on the other partition.
2 Questions:
How do I get rid of the XP Home on the first partition without losing the
partition so that I can store my data on it?
How do I stop my start up screen from showing me both OS and that I have to
chose the one that I want, in this case PRO?

I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Brian

It depends on the order in which the partitions are located

the first partition cannot be disturbed and hence you have no other choice to back up data and reinstall the O/S if necessary.

To avoid being prompted for the O/S everytime go to My Computer, right click and choose properties. then select advanced tab and choose settings related to startup and shutdown. there select the o/S that u want to start up and then uncheck the box "Time to
display list of o.s" and then click on apply.
