After I created a second user on my WinXP Pro machine, I
found a strange problem: after the second logon to the
OS, windows failed to execute either logoff or shutdown
functions. It would still go into standby mode, however,
allowing for standby and relogon with different user, but
not shutdown.
Calling my mfg. support, they suggested a few things,
including trying to uninstall the second user I created
for the OS. This did not resolve the problem, instead
now, even after the first logon, I cannot logoff or
shutdown.
Mfg. support also suggested an update of the video
display driver and a "repair" of the os.
Any ideas as to the cause of/how to fix my problem?
