When attempting to download Windows Updates; In the
Windows Update - Web Page Dialog, the download progress
indicator becomes full (complete), but the process
freezes and the Install progress indicator never starts.
This malfunction only began after I had downloaded all of
the critical updates, and since then I have been trying
daily to download even the smallest update from that
site, but without success. What can I do from this point?
Can the problem be with the updated Internet Explorer
patch, because it seems like my online activity is not
running as efficiently as before I downloaded all of
these new updates, including the Service Pack 1a?
Please help.

The problem is most probably update Nr. 811493. Check in Control panel, Add
and remove. If you go down this newsgroup you will see a lot of problems
with this download

The general advice" Remove it " Good luck Phil

I have checked the add-remove list but 811493 was not
there. So I went to the Windows Update Site to veiw the
Installation History. I found that, when I initially came
to download 811493, it failed (the last file in a group
of four). I attempted to download another grouping of
seven (without 811493), and with success. So the next
day, I downloaded another ten updates successfully until
I came to 811493, and I haven't been able to download any
updates since. No matter how small.
I don't have a clue.
