I bought my HP computer with Win XP Home already installed
and authorized. I messed up the operating system so I
purchased locally Win XP Home and installed it, authorized
it, but later had computer problems. I used the restore
disks to re install Win XP Home that came with my
computer.
My question is I want to use the Win XP Home I purchased
to put on another computer. Since the computer I
installed it on no longer uses it, but it is registered to
that computer will I have problems? Please advise.

Hi Larry,

You can move the retail version onto another machine. If it's been less than
120 days since you initially activated it, you will be prompted to phone in
activation. Just explain what you did and you will receive a new activation
code.
