I've run across a rather strange profile problem. During
a recent client install I had 16 XP pro clients that had
been in a workgroup. All had only 2 accounts, the local
administrator and a user account that had administrative
priveleges.
I logged onto the computer as administrator, then
accessed the profiles via my computer\properties\advanced
and began copying the local user to the default profile.
13 went perfectly. The last 3 gave the following error:
Failed to set security on the destination profile.
Error - access is denied.
I tried:
1. creating a new account and copying any profile this
failed.
2. tried rebooting, then copying failed.
3. tried copying the old way from folders that failed.
4. checked security on the profiles to make sure full
control and then tried copying folders one at a time
failed.
I'm kinda at a loss so any advice is helpful!!!
Thanks,
Dale
