Ray
you can drag it to another location in the Start menu. You can rename it
(right-click & rename), you can change the icon to something more
identifiable (right-click & click 'Properties > click into 'Shortcut' tab >
click 'Change Icon'). You can drag it to your desktop. You can even delete
it (only a shortcut). I don't believe you can hide it, though I could be
wrong on this account.

TweakUI can hide users on the start menu. Download it free from Microsoft's
power toys page.

Put a password in - then the other half won't be able to log on as you.

Hi Ray,

Remove User Name from the Start Menu
Start/Run/gpedit.msc

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar/Remove
User Name from the Start Menu.

Remove User Name from the Start Menu (Line 207)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Manual Edit:

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis t

(note there is a space between Windows and NT).

Add the username you wish to hide as a DWORD value. Set the value to 0
(zero). This will prevent the user from showing up on the welcome screen.
You will need to press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the logon screen to get the old
Win2K logon, to be able to logon to the account you've hidden.

Adding a username and setting the value to 1 will cause that user, such as
Administrator, to show up on the Welcome screen as well.
