printing problems

I installed windows xp and the when it came to installing
the printer cd that came with it every went fine. I tried
to print something and a box came up that said print file
with out file name. what is the out file? I don't know
what to put in tihs box and I an unable to print anything
at this point because I don't know what to put in this
field.

Go to the Control Panel, click on Printers & Faxes. Right click on your
printers and then click on Set as Default.
