Using WinXP Home Ed. and Earthlink dial-up. There are certain websites that
I use on which there are applets that I can open. However sometimes they
open and sometimes they do not. I cannot afford broadband or dsl. I delete
temp files regularly. What can I do to get these applets to open every
time. Thanks in advance, Fran

Fran;
If you could be a little more specific. Are you using Internet Explorer?
Which web sites? What applets? Post back and someone will try to help.

Thanks Wes. I use Internet Explorer 6. The applets are usually on
investment sights to get streaming data (ie stock quotes, news, etc). I
just cannot get them to open every time! All help is appreciated. Fran

Fran;
You bet. I don't know for sure. Maybe your security settings are set too
high. Do these sites have a Help? I use MSN Money and they have a Help
button. I went to their Help/Find/typed: connect /this brought up a number
of listings. SSL was mentioned. I would see if whatever sites have Help.
Check that out first!!
If you can't find any info, try this: Open IE/Tools/Internet
Options/Advanced tab/scroll down to the bottom/are Use SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 both
checked?/if not click one or both/Apply/OK.
Hope this helps.
