retreving an old user name

Hi John,

Did you reinstall or upgrade?

An upgrade should have preserved the old user accounts. A reinstall would
lose them and create new ones, the old one belongs to the old installation.
In these cases, you cannot recover them, but you may be able to copy the old
data over to a new user (log on as admin to do this). You should never
reinstall WinXP, you should only do repair installations.
