I recently upgraded my sony vaio notebook to xp pro from 98se. Everything was running fine but I noticed that when I went to upgrade to divx 8.0( i think) that on the display page it says 3d acc. function not available. I know it was working when I had the
previouse windows version so I dont know what went wrong. I tried to install different and new drivers but none would work. Many programs wont work without the 3d acc. enabled so could someone please help me. Im fresh out of ideas. Thank you

Check for updated graphics drivers at the Sony website.... however the
notebook is really old if it came with Windows98 so updated drivers may not
be available. If no XP drivers are available, look for drivers for Windows
2000 which should work.

hey thanks for the input. But I did go to the sony site and they do have some drivers there for xp. I dont know what else to do I dl atleast 5 different drivers but none of them activate the 3d acc. and I know it was working before. The only other thing is
to get support from sony. But do you think I should try a win2k driver??

Check the following registry key:#
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDriv ers\DCI
Timeout REG_DWORD Value: 0x00000007
If your setting is 0x00000000 change it to its default (7) and 3d should
work.
I had this once. On my system the reason was the remote-software
REMCON PC-Duo which did not re-set this key to its default when
uninstalling.

Do not know, if it is the same with dti, but if it did not help, set it
back to its original value.
