SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am upgrading to XP Home from ME. So far....nothing but
hassels! After correcting most of the issues that are
within my knowledge...I am now stuck.

During the "Installing Windows" phase of the installation,
when the progress bar reads "Installing Network" the PC
freezes up. If I restart the installation it just freezes
up at the exact same place. If I want to go back to the ME
os, I have to use my recovery discs AND reformat my
harddrive (which I've done, tried reinstalling to no
avail.) as the other methods make an error pop up (.dll
file is corrupt or missing).

This is where I'm at....any help would be appreciated as I
simply don't know what to do next besides call a tech with
the hopes that he can walk me through the procedure via
the telephone.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks,
Todd Anderson

Also, physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware devices,
especially USB devices (not including your mouse, keyboard or
monitor). Uninstall any antivirus program, too!
