When I go to shutdown, I find the standby not in bold...What do I do

This us usually due to inadequate video drivers. Install the latest from the
video card manufacturer's Web site.

Video drivers have an effect on type fonts???? Bold???

I suspected that he meant that the Stand By option was greyed out. It
happened to me when I used standard VGA video drivers.

Press the shift key and hibernate instead. Standby will present a multitude
a problems that will keep you posting here for months. But if you really
have to have make sure its setup correctly in bios and then right click on
desktop/properties/screensaver/power , make sure it doesn't say 'never', and
make sure your monitor is set for a generic monitor.
