Monitor power saver

I have two monitors connected to my Matrox G450 dual head
video card on my WinXP Pro system. When the screen saver
starts, it displays on both monitors. However, when
the "Turn off monitor" power saving time is reached, the
left monitor turns off, but the right one shows whatever
is on the screen.

I tried
- uninstalling and reinstalling the video driver
- changing the power off time
- switched the primary monitor to the other screen
- unchecking the "extend my Windows desktop onto this
monitor" setting in the display properties, applied the
change, then checked it again

None of these have made any difference.

Any idea about how to fix this?

I had this display adapter installed in another WinXP Pro
computer, and the monitor power saver worked correctly.
