I have xp and win 98se simultaneously installed and every
time I start my computer, it asks which one I want to
use. I did that by accident. I just want to get rid of
xp, but there is no option to uninstall. I have tried to
format the hard drive, but the action is always
terminated. I don't have a win 98 boot disk and I don't
want to lose win 98 programs, software, etc. How can I
get rid of xp without losing everything else? If that is
not possible, how can I just get rid of everything, win
98 included, and start from scratch so there will at
least be only one OS? Please help, I'm at my wits end.

Hi Mary
I can email you a win98 boot/startup disk if you like,
then you can boot from it and choose
format c:
or whatever your hard-drive letter is, then you shall have to either
re-install win98 or XP
Let me know if you want the disk
