I have a Dell 2400 Dimension running XP Home SP1. We bought it a
month ago. Just until a few minutes ago, XP was hiding inactive icons in
the taskbar. Now all of a sudden it stopped doing that. Any ideas why?
That feature is still turned on.

Why don't my Notification Area icons show or why do they disappear?

I'm a little leery about tweaking the registry. Just curious to know
why the hiding feature stopped.

It could be a number of reason, they are listed on that site.

Well, I changed my mind and ran the .vbs file recommended at that
site. But it didn't fix the problem. So, I used System Restore to return
the computer to its state 24 hours ago, and the hiding icons feature is
back. For now, anyway.

This has been a sloppy thread on my part. I just realized I
installed and ran the wrong .vbs file. Oh well. Like I said, the hiding
icons feature is back.
