If you can open an .scr file (screensaver), rename regedit.exe to
regedit.scr and then invoke regedit.scr from Start>Run
When the registry editor opens, navigate to here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>exefile>shell>open>command
Right-click on Default in right pane, select Modify, then modify the Value
data to:
"%1" %*
Next, navigate to here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>regfile>shell>open>command
Right-click on Default in right pane, select Modify, then modify the Value
data to:
regedit.exe "%1"
Please let me know if you were able to do the above. As I have to go to work
now, I won't be back to check this thread for several hours. If you are able
to do the above edits, d/load and go thru the various file association fixes
here:
