Remote controling services with SC.exe troubles with XP Pro

I can't seem to get a Remote control/monitor services from under XP with sc.exe
I allways get following errors:
- source XP - Target XP: "[SC] OpenSCManager FAILED 5: Access Is Denied"



It always ask for user & password I give in the admin account but I allways get a "Access is Denied" message
I tried to remote control services from XP to several other XPs, 2000s & NTs all with the same result
When I use my 2000 to remote control/monitor services I can access all the NTs


Checked:

- We don't use Domains (Novell network) all our PCs are Workgroup based
- (I could remote control/monitor services in the past (source XP - target 2000 (but not vica versa))



What I found out till now:

If I first use "net use \\targetpc /user:administrator" (only possible if I have shared (ore shared in the past)
a directory on the target pc otherwise I get the error message "unknown user or bad password")
Then I can remote control/monitor a target NT machines only, I still can't control XP & 2000


Anyone an Idea?
