name and pass word

Can anyone explain why I have the following.

When I boot up my computer I see my name as administrator among
others(wife,guest) , I key in the password and I get into Windows XP. But
when I examine the "users page" this name is not there but my second name
is there as administrator together with wife's name and guest. A similar
thing occurs with my other computer.

In my wife's notebook only her name appears at bootup. My name is nowhere!

How do I rectify this problem.

My guess is that your computer was an upgrade and your wife's was
pre-installed.

My computer has my name at login, but inside, I am referred to as
HPCustomer.
My son's computer only has his name and the other account names.
Mine was a WinME upgrade, his was pre-installed.
