I have Dell 8100 (originally installed with windows ME)
I purchased and installed HP 1300 Laser Jet printer
(worked fine)
I install XP and got error (..found incompatable
hardware: HP 1300)
--I have never been able to print on the computer since I
installed XP--Sep 03
I have tried to resolve this problem on several occasions
with MS personnel assistance
--no luck to date
I can't install a printer from the control pannel (the
window is blank)
--operation could not be completed error dialog
I've generated a hundered or more error reports that I've
forwarded to MS
I obtained a new driver disk from my printer OEM (HP
1300).
--Atemps to install fail early in the process (..setup
has encountered a sever and will now exit....)
When I boot the computer I get the error dialog (in the
attachment)
--(spoolsv.exe) the instructino at "0x00000000"
referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not
be "read".
