Start profile in Messenger with commandline

Is it possible in a commandline to start Messenger (6.1) with a
certain userprofile? We are four people working on the same PC,
and therefore I would like to make a small program where the 4
profiles are shown and then the user should just type 1, 2, 3 or
4 and enter to log on with their profile.

Greetings Lars,

Unfortunately no, there isn't anything like this, but as long as you don't have a password
saved, the login box will just appear and allow you to sign into any account you wish.

Yes, but there is only one buttom for the default user that can
be pressed to log on. If I wish to change user I need to click on
the link to change the user and then choose the new username in
the combobox. Isn't that right or is there a workaround?

PS. The passwords are saved on the PC.

Hi Lars,

Yes, you'll need to remove the default user. To do so, click the Start Button, then click
the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name,
and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network
Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click
'Remove'.

I managed even though your guide was difficult on a Danish PC with different
names. Anyway it workes fine, but I have one additional question. This way
it does not seem to be able to remember the passwords for the different
users on this computer. Can that be fixed?

Hi Lars,

No, unfortunately it will only remember *one* login and password, which is what you don't
want. This is primarily because Passport and Messenger assumes that each user would have
their own Windows account, not use the same one.

What a pity. I think that loads of users actually share a Windows
account, so that they can see the same icons, programs etc. I
don't know if you as an MVP can help incoorporate the feature
that I request in future versions of Messenger. Especially the
possibility to start Messenger with a certain user directly from
a commandline would be appresiated.
