Can anybody tell me, please why Windows Explorer opens
the way it does and not like it used to do in Windows 98
and 95? Why does it have to create Shortcuts to "My
Documents" when it could have easily shown the actual
folder?

Carlo;
I hated that myself, got a trick from someone on one of the newsgroups. I
think it was purplehaz. Try this: Right click the Windows Explorer
shortcut/Properties/Put the following in Target: "%windir%\explorer.exe
/e,C:\" (without the quotes)/Apply/OK.
Or right click the desktop/New/Shortcut/Browse/expand My Computer/click the
C drive/OK/Next/Finish.
Right click the new icon/Properties/Shortcut tab/Change Icon button/pick
icon/OK/Apply/OK.
Hope this helps. It helped me. Let us know.
