Hi there...I'm a Mac user, with a Sony VAIO running XP
Home that is primarily used for audio/video purposes
(Sony Professional rep).

The LCD fried on my iBook so I am using the VAIO for
business on the road, or trying to.

I transferred my docs from the iBook to a USB
2.0/FireWire drive. When I plug it in to either USB port
on the VAIO I get the dialog box indicating that it will
run at slower speed. But it does not show up anywhere on
the computer.

When I go into the hardware wizard it indicates that the
device is enabled, but I still can't find it anywhere to
get hold of my files.

Any tips? Thanks!

You might need to go to Disk Management and initialize the disk. But...did
it ever work with a PC? Was it Mac formatted, perhaps?
