With XP what can you do? What can't you do? How many
modifications can you do? What are the limitations? If I
have XP on my PC and I sold it would I be able to remove
my name and info.for the person buying it to use their
own info. or would they have to use my info. for
registration purposes?

You need to define your questions better. "What can you do" or not do, are
very broad questions. The rest of your message seems focused on Product
activation. Here's a link for you on that topic:

You need to much more specific about the kind of things you're
asking about for someone to give you any real information. If I
take you that Windows XP will run programs, but won't make
chicken soup for you, it probably won't help you very much.

You can play FreeCell which is much more fun than Solitaire.

You can't stop spam.

34,567 at last count this morning.

You can't copy it onto all your home PCs anymore.

If your vendor provided a recovery CD, then run that and your buyer will
have it in pristine, as delivered from the factory, state with none of
your information on it.

If you have a DVD player, Microsoft offers a DVD modestly
titled "Do Amazing Things With Windows XP!"
No, this is not a joke or an elaborate tribute to Jonathan
Swift.
What I don't know is whether the DVD gets its message
across if you just play it on your TV, or whether it must be
played via XP (where a DVD drive and 8MB video card
are required).
I have this MS DVD but have been afraid to play it. Like
my DVD version of L. Ron Hubbard's "Dianetics," I have
never been brave enough to play "Do Amazing Things
With Windows XP." I just don't need a metamorphic
transition at this stage in my life! You should be aware of
reports that MS marketing magic has inspired others to
shed their jobs and families in order to pursue recognition
as expert Windows users and earn coveted honorary
credentials. Therefore, I caution you to play the MS DVD
strictly at your own risk.
--Jim,
with just a subtle tip of the cap to J. Swift.
