Cheap compared to what charges are applied in Australia.

I've never seen Microsoft (or at least the distributors, since MS doesn't
sell direct to many) lower OS prices significantly. More likely, either the
store had too much stock on hand and decided to clear warehouse space, or
it's just a sale to get you in the door.
