installed xp pro and nothing is working "well"

I recently upgraded from Me to XP Pro, and then installed
Office 2000 on my P4 computer. It is acting "buggier",
more sluggish, and frustrating than it was with Me.
programs crash, files won't open. Programs can't open
because there are not enough system resources. It is
just acting all around wierd.

Any suggestions on how to clean things up? Suggested
software, techniques, or XP commands?

I have no idea what to do.

Open Microsoft Word or Excel and from the Toolbar select:
HELP > DETECT and REPAIR....

After the repair is completed, visit http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/default.aspx
and install any available updates applicable to your Office 2000 program.
