I am having trouble with knowing what updates & what
Hotfixes to use. I have a bunch of hotfixes in the
control panel, but they have no size beside them. Some
of them are SP1 &some SP2. Does it hurt your computer if
you download a update rollup for Windows XP if you
already have some of the individual ones downloaded. I
am very confused about hotfixes. Could someone please
help out here. Thank you

Donna;
Do you have Service Pack 1 installed?
If not, install it.
Go ahead and install the Rollup.
If some of the updates are installed already, it is not a problem.
You should be going to Windows Update regularly to help keep the
computer up to date:

Thank you for your help. I do have Service Pack 1
installed. In my Control Panel- Add,remove programs, it
lists a bunch of hotfixes that say SP2, but there is no
file size beside them. I go into Windows Update everyday
as soon as I go online, and then directly to norton
antivirus from there. So far, have not had any virus's.
Hope it stays that way. Thanking you again Jupiter
Jones, for your help.

The items in the "Add Remove" panel are there to allow you to remove a
"Hotfix" if, for some reason, the Hotfix causes a problem. If there is no
problem after taking the update, leave it alone.
