Are you using the Welcome screen when you log onto XP? If not, this may be
the problem Go to Control Panel/User Accounts. Select the "Change the way
users log on or off" option
and enable the Welcome Screen.

If no joy, go to Start/Run and type: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll and press OK.
(Include the space)
