Have you selected "Auto hide the taskbar" on the taskbar properties?

That is caused with the lack of Ram, it is difficult for windows to display
the programs Word, IE...etc on the taskbar with little ram and with the(very
beautiful skin) activated, disactivate the skin option to return in the
standard windows, and to save ram.
Rightclick my computer>Properties> Advanced>Performances>Parameters.
Select the adjust to obtain the best performance or uncheck feature you see
that arn't neccessary. and click apply.

Hello,
I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 240,
(Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar)
Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "xp_taskbar_desktop_fixall.vbs",
then double-click and follow the prompts.
