View Full Version : Xerox M940 and Windows XP - printing works!!

I have been having the same problem that a number of others have been
reporting in these forums, with regards the Xerox m940 windows xp
driver not working with their printers.

After trying various uninstalling / reinstalling efforts, and trying
the W2K drivers - I stumbled across a solution that seems to work for
me. Apparently the Win Xp driver attempts to install to a virtual
port that doesn't exist. Simply changing this to my USB port, allowed
my printer to be recognised and to print documents again!

Don't know if this will work for anyone else but I thought I'd share
it!

Matt, you are correct and I have done this also with my M940 on Windows
XP. But oddly enough, with this configuration, my M940 only prints
from Windows applications (office, Word, Excel, PPT, and IE). It will
not print Adobe docs, or my Avery business cards.

Any ideas anyone? Please respond to
