I am having problems with my desktop icons becoming
highlighted especially the text description all their
edges are fuzzy with a shadow. I looked at my desktop
properties and can't find anything to change this. It all
happened after I copied an image from a report to my
desktop. It was a scrap image and wanted to open it and
converted to .bmp or JPEG etc. All I did was paste it to
my desktop and I selected yes to some of the messages "I
did not pay attention but I think the desktop environment
took over whatever was on the scrap image ...it was late
at night and I did not pay attention to the message when I
clicked Yes. Please help. I hate this setting my Icons
look wierd. Let me know if I can reset the icons to appear
normally I have windows xp as the setting on the desktop
properties theme. Thanks

Selecting Yes imported the REG file, so if that was your issue, it would =
have corrected it. I think the issue you're having is Web Content =
enabled. Right click the Desktop select Properties, Desktop, Customize =
Desktop, Web tab. Uncheck any items listed there.

If that doesn't resolve your issue, go to Control Panel, System, =
Advanced, Performance. Click the Settings button. Scroll down and put =
the check mark in Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
