My experience of the beta SP2 is that Windows will no longer start on my PC. I have had to go back and recover XP from the CD. It has been a waste of several hours. All I wanted was a fix to file sharing which is reported as being part of SP2. I could have
obtained it seperately from MS but my support agreement has now expired and I think I would have to pay. So now I will wait until SP2 is tried and tested later this summer.

Well, you see this is what happens when people don't read things carefully.
Had you read that hotfix blurb carefully you wouldn't have wasted all that
time. Suggest you go back and read it again. Carefully this time.

Well, you see this is what happens when people don't read things carefully.
Had you read that hotfix blurb carefully you wouldn't have wasted all that
time. Suggest you go back and read it again. Carefully this time.

You're another moron. Of course you need SP1 - why would MS waste all that
time producing it if it wasn't necessary?! It enables LBA for one thing, nor
can your USB2 ports (if you have them) operate at their correct speed. I'm
sure there's a list somewhere of all the essentials included in SP1, but I
don't have the time, energy or inclination to look for it for a moron such
as yourself.

You're probably a pirate who can't install it anyway!

This confirms it - this is obviously April Fool's month, never mind day!
