View Full Version : Home directory access

We are running a Windows2k based system with 2 DC's
running AD. We have shared home directories for all users
(about 300). I recently upgraded my admin workstation to
XP Pro and installed the Administrative tools.

When adding new users we specify the home directory (from
this workstation) as H:\\server_name\home\%username%
This is the way we have always done it without a problem.
When the home directory is created, it says it was done so
with errors. The directory is created, but the user does
not have the appropriate permissions to access it.

If we delete the home directory, and create it from one of
the DC's, it creates the directory without errors. I'm
thinking this has something to do with an XP Pro bug.

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Thanks,

Jeff
