PC 2100, PC 2700 ..what does it mean?

Hi!

When speaking of DDRam, I often see the numbers 2800, 2400, 3200 etc.
It appears to be a rating of some kind? Or is it a specific
manufacturer's code? Or What?

I'm confused because I have a DELL 2400......any relationship to the
2400 being the DDRAM in my system. Boy, have I got a lot to learn!

pc 2100 , 2700 , 3200 etc... are all rates for speed of RAm !

512 mb for example is the size of RAm ... !

In simple terms - the higher the number the faster the ram.
I don't think there is 2400 so it not related to your Dell model number.

Also this 3200=ddr400 2700=ddr333 amd 2100=ddr266

This is the speed of the memory. You must use the proper type for your
computer. It depends on the speed of your processor and the Front Side Bus.
You can go to www.crucial.com and find out exactly what type memory your
computer requires.
