stopping junk!!!

i keep recieving porn based junk mail. I have tried to
block sender in the tools section, however a message
appears saying that the reason the message was sent to my
folder was because the email address is in my contacts
list!. I haven't got that many contacts in my safe list,
and can't for the life of me find the domain or contact
name in there?. Yet they still continue to come. I even
have tried to delete any mail that has *sex*, **sex**,
sex, penis, extension, boobs, farm, girls, etc in my
messages list , however these too seem to get through to
me. My filtering tool is on exclusive, so how come i stll
get this crap?. My daughter is fourteen, and no doubt
curiousity has made her look on these sites, but she too
gets the junk !!. I have resctricted her settings too but
yet they come??? help!

Hi there - first rule - never, never, never reply to those emails or use the
link that claims to take you off the mailing list .. all that does is
confirm your address is valid and you'll just get more of them.

Next, try installing AdAware or SpyBot .. or both as many of us do. They
will help remove any spyware that has nested in your pc and is an attraction
for this kind of junk.

Finally ... always use a fake email address when posting here. There are
many people who are genuinely trying to help you and me, but sadly, there
are those who search these newsgroups for fresh blood and new email
addresses to send their Junk to

I'm sure you will receive more replies as there are more things you can do
to protect yourself and yours
