Is there some way to disable "my pictures" ?

Prefreably i'd get rid of the whole stupid "my documents" idea, however,
does anyone know if its possible to get the "my pictures" folder to stop
behaving like a picture folder, ie, with the preview stuff etc - and
just behave like a regular folder?

Or even better, get XP to stop using it and just remember the last
folder i used.

(I am aware that you can designate another folder as a 'my pictures'
folder)

You can change the way the folder displays files by going to View and then
selecting either thumbnails, tiles, icons, lists, or details.
