Running WXP - Pro, I've created and backed up important material to my D
drive. How can I copy this 1.2gb file on to two consecutive cd's for
safekeeping outside of the computer?
Thanks!

I am sure that by now you have seen an earlier answer, by a knowing person
to your question.

You will need to purchase a third party software that does disk spanning-the contiguous copying of files from the end of one disk to the beginning of another without loss of data or function. Norton Ghost for example. Good luck.

I'd thought about that - does it require any special software for my cd/dvd
drive. Only software I have is Nero and what came with XP.

Thanks.

Most backup software these days has two features that each alone solves the
problem. The two features are a) the aforementioned disk spanning and b)
compression. With good backup software you should be backup without
investing in any new hardware.

You should pick a program with a good compression algorithm. I would
recommend Relative Rev Backup, an extremely powerful program on sale at the
remarkable price of $39. (www.datamills.com).
