Installation error?

After installing all files from the CD, the machine
reboots and I get this error:

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is missing or corrupted

And the suggestion after that is to repair the problem
with the repair console. Any ideas?

Freshly FDISK'd and Forammted Hard Drive, no registry =/

I tried this, unfortunately since it is a new install,
there are no files in the c:\windows\repair directory to
copy over. Any other ideas? =(

unfortunately this is the only method i know of to fix the problem. wait
for another person to reply with their offerings.

are you using more than 1 OS?try this link,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;315233. it's also applicable if you're only using xp.
it will try to restore ntldr and other boot files. good
luck.
