XP and new programs

I'm using XP Home SP1. About a week ago, I installed two new
programs. XP has been highlighting them in the Start Menu ever since. How
long will XP do that?

I don't think it usually lasts very long. I didn't think it lasted a week.

Well, actually, its been about 3 days since I installed those
programs. It's been a slow week.

Right click the task bar and click properties then select the start menu tab
and select customize and uncheck the button for show new program installs.
