I am finding that virtually every time I use IE6 in my
recently purchased computer running XP Pro SP1 that it
crashes and I get the "send error message" dialogue box
and whenever I click on this to send or not, all copies of
IE6 close immediately. Does anybody know the source and
fix for this bug?

Joe,

From: http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm
----------------------------------------------------

When you click the Internet Explorer icon, window may flash a second and =
quits. Or, it may show an Error-Reporting dialog. This may be due to a =
malware Browser Helper Object which causes Internet Explorer process to =
terminate. If you see the Error-Reporting dialog, click "to see what =
data this report contains" and identify the Module Name causing this =
error. In most cases, it may be the spyware DLL. Therefore, reinstalling =
Internet Explorer [in case of a spyware DLL] may not help.=20

To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet=20
Explorer
1. Click Start, Run, and type inetcpl.cpl. [or control inetcpl.cpl]
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions=20
(requires restart) check box.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.

---------------------------------------
*Then, you need to eliminate the parasites*
---------------------------------------

If this helps, read here for further troubleshooting:
