How can I get System Restore to "automatically" set a
point each day? If I don't do it manually, one does not
get posted.
I've tried going through the Help and Support section,
but it does not cover the automatic point settings.

As far as I know, you can't do it automatically each day. But by the
information in the documentation, the system restore point is created
automatically every time you install/remove a application or add/remove
system driver/device. This should be enough, as I understand.
Creating the same system restore point every day might not be such a good
idea (space issues too).

I don't know why it isn't working as it should - but -
System Restore should automatically create a Checkpoiont
every 24 hours and every 6 hours of continuous use
Since it does not seem to be doing this - then - turn it
off - Re-Boot and turn it on again

A VBS script by Doug Knox (MVP) that allows the creation of a restore point
with a single click. The following page contains a download link and it also
describes how to create a scheduled task that utilizes the script to create
a restore point automatically at the scheduled time:

Hi All- In order to create the daily (every 24 hours the system is on)- the
system must have idle time and the task scheduler must be running. Idle
time can be impacted by some proccess running in the background such as some
types of screen savers etc, so double check theres' not something running on
the system preventing that.
Also check the task scheduler and SR required services are running. Info on
where/how to check all contained in the following FAQ. Your right SR should
automatically create restore point before key operations such as some
installs, patches and uninstalls but it should also create a 'daily'
scheduled restore point.
Let me know if this helps
thanks!
