Had trouble with a game, virtual memory message came up
and everything locked up. Afterward, it gave me a
message about a corrupt profile, and loads only the basic
stuff on my desktop and is asking me to set up my mail
again when I try to open it. Freakin frustrating, and
I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to get my
mail back.

What mail program do you use? It's possible to manually navigate to the
email data files, remove them, and stick them into a new email profile or
even a whole new user account.

My OE files are here: C:\Documents and Settings\[account name]\Local
Settings\Application Data\Identities

If you manually copy these files be sure you ABSOLUTELY also copy the
Folders.dbx file.

Create a new profile and copy the data to the new profile:
