I have been using a separate phone line for my pc
connection and faxing using Fax Cosnole. I want to do
away with the second line and use my local
telephone "distinctive ring" capability [much cheaper
than 2nd phone line] to allow Windows fax console to
answer incoming faxes and not answer normal incoming
phone calls. Fax console setup only allows selection of
number of rings before answering, not selection of type
of distinctive ring [2 short rings, short-long-short,
etc.]. Is there a download that allows user to select
distinctive ring settings?

No Operating system based on the NT kernel supports Distinctive Ring

Windows XP does not support distinctive rings by itself, but third party
solutions do exist.
