Wanna see what's running?
Try this:
Start | Run | Type: cmd | OK |
Type: tasklist /svc | ENTER

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Hey Wes,
Why is it that people try to be so condescending and attempt to
answer a valid question with a less than 25 word insult? If you would
have taken more than 3 seconds to read Sam's post you may have caught
the fact that he has used this webpage to find out what the programs
he had running in the background actually do and if they are needed.
QUOTE: "There is a web site that I have used periodically to identify

Your little be-a-prick remedy would just tell him WHAT's running...
Not WHAT IT IS?, is it HARMFUL?, should it be STOPPED/STARTED???...
Sam did not find a magic website that would show HIS running tasks did
he? Well, Captain Obvious WTF good is it for Sam to bring up your DOS
version of task manager? He didn't ask for a way to find what was
running cause it appears he already knows how to do that or he
wouldn't have been at the site trying to find the details of each
thing running. I think this is what he asked::::(quote)
If anyone has USED this program AND/OR is FAMILIAR with it, would very
much
appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks, Sam.
You fall into these requirements, Wes? didn't think so.. STFU and keep
your 2 second problem solving in your bedroom where it belongs.
You know what? I have to apologize, I am in a bad mood and probably
should not attack you like this. But can I ask you one question? Why
would you waste the time to reply to his question if you were not just
trolling the boards? Was it to show you knew a command Sam didn't? Why
would you use that DOS command on Sam's XP system instead of just
mentioning msconfig? Reason I got so miffed was that I am looking for
a program that I could give to some clients who have problems with
clutter in the backround sucking all the resources and they have
either kids on kiddie games or significant others on pron loading them
up day after day. If this program would actually give recommendations
for each item in start-up without having to look each one up and cross
refference to see if it's needed, just fluff or actually causing a
negative result could you see how useful it could be? If you can do
all that with your tasklist /svc then I am truly impressed. Do us all
a favor and stop thread crapping and make your talents useful.. I have
the feeling you do know what your talking about in some
cases............Just not this time.
