Logon Screen Help

I`m trying to help a friend who just got a new computer with XP Pro
Installed.It seems that after only a few weeks of having it, it takes over
one minute from the time she clicks her name on the logon screen to when the
actual desktop screen appears.Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is
taking so long to load?Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard,

Check to see if your friend's computer has many items loading at startup or
not. This can be checked by Start >> Run and type MSCONFIG. Flip to the
startup tab. Too many programs loading at startup tend to make the computer
run slower.
