wont miss any of todays data additions". and so i have.
but theres no data in my folders and allmy favorites and
outlook email has gone. the data was all sorts of office
docs, web sites etc.

It's normal for the built-in Administrator account to disappear when
another user account is added. Most folks create a second account in the
administrator group and reserve the built-in Administrator account for
troubleshooting.

You can still log on to that account after it disappears by pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Del two times at the welcome screen. Type in the user name
and password for that account when prompted.

You have a few choices to get back your "stuff":

- Copy your old account data to the new account
How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811151

If you lose access to some of the files or folders, see this article:
HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421

- Keep the old account. Use TweakUI for XP to place it back onto the
Welcome Screen. TweakUI is one of the Power toys for XP. The current
version available for downloading is *only* for XP with SP1:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

NOTE: If you take this route, you may want to create and keep on hand a
second Administrator account for troubleshooting.
