windows disappear

I have a problem with windows disappearing. At the dos
command line after I say run, I type telnet
pop.earthlink.net 110 The next window comes up and
disappears immediately. This used to work. Also I ran
Nortons Disk Dr at reboot and the window that reported
the results came up and again disappeared immediatly. I
think these problems are the same ????

What happens when you execute command line programs from the run dialog is
that they run to completion and the command line then closes. Instead, you
should enter cmd at the run dialog, and then enter your command arguments
from the command line directly, after which the results will still be there.
The command line, launched using cmd, will stay put until you type exit.
