Getting used to an XP system that is running on a driver formatted NTFS can
take a little getting used to. Even though you are the only user, remember
that when you're connected to the internet - those pesky permissions and
restrictions provide security for your system.
As a member of the Administrative group, you have access to almost
everything. There are a few important things that remain system protected
but you can gain access to them as well by "taking ownership" or by editing
the permissions for a particular object.
There is a lot of information about this in the Help and Support file.
Also, if you share some specifics about the situations where you run
into "access denied," many folks here could help you out with them.

Darn spell checker: read the last phrase as "running on a drive formatted
NTFS"
Sorry!

You cutie. ;)
Don't think it will help though (and I already have a spell checker). The
problem is "drive" and "driver" are both valid words. That's the kind of
error that spell checkers can't catch.

Works fine. Does the URL get wrapped in your newsreader window?

Free Spirit;
I just came from there. I clicked my link in your message. Once you get
there, you have to scroll down a little and click on one of the flags. US or
Australia, I think, too small for me.
When you read the message, is the link on your OE showing up as a link???
Underlined and colored??? If not, copy and paste it into the IE's Address Bar.
If you do not get links working in OE look here:

Sharon;
If I were smart, I would write a program that would put down what you meant,
not what you typed. Not only would I be smart, I would be enormously wealthy
also. I would also tyxyg better.

** Sorry but I CAN'T get there to scroll anywhere.
US or

When you read the message, is the link on your OE showing up as a link???
** Yes, this is what's in the OE 6 browser window - >

Underlined and colored??? If not, copy and paste it into the IE's Address
Bar.
If you do not get links working in OE look here:
http://pages.prodigy.net/bobhenry/OEhelp.htm#linksdontwork
** Yes, they are underlined and colored. OE6 is my default browser. If
another browser is on here I never saw/found it.

** All I get is "Cannot find server" page. This is a Copy & Paste of what
I keep getting. The refresh button just brings up the same page. Any other
suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser

Please try the following:
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is
spelled correctly.
To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click
Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings
should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator

If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine
your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then
click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have
installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings
can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On
the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL

Click the Back button to try another link.

http://www.majorgeeks.net/mgusers/Page.html <-- this is the ONLY page my
browser (IE6) can find. It cannot find the server for anything else with
"majorgeeks" in the name. How do I fix this problem? Why does it work for
you and not me? Are you using Netscape or another browser other than IE6?
If so, which one is working for you?

I'm using IE but 40tude's Dialog is my default newsreader. That shouldn't
make a difference though and the link should work from OE as well. If
using IE, try Start> Run> and type in regsvr32 urlmon.dll
May need to close all open OE and IE windows and relaunch the programs
before the change takes effect.
MajorGeeks provides server space for may different programs and utilities.
You could use their search tool to look up "Spell Checker for OE"
When I use their web page links (Downloads> Mail Utilities> Spell Checker
for OE) I get a slightly different looking link:
