Hi,
I am really new to computers and i was hoping that
someone here could help me. I have Xp, and Norton, (which
is on auto protect.) While my son was playing a game two
days ago we had two virus attempting to get into the
computer.One was a download.trojan which was
automatically deleted and the other was a backdoor.hogle
the log viewer virus report says Access denied and repair
failed. what does this mean? Also, now when i turn my
computer off it is restarting all on its own. I can no
longer turn the computer off using the start menu. it has
to be turned off at the tower. Like i said i am really
new to the computer, i am still doing the two finger hunt
and peck to find the proper keys (thank god for backspace)
so if you can help me out i would greatly appreciate it.
thanking you in advance Colleen

When you do the scan, do you turn off System Restore?
It's a good hiding place for this type of garbage.

I would try a System Restore back to the point before the virus
arrived.

To stop computer restarting Right click My computer / Advanced /
Startup & Recovery Settings, uncheck "Automatically restart". You may
then see an error message when you close windows.
