I work with a lot of seniors and I want to change the
keyboard cursor to something which stands out more, bold,
colorful, whatever. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I
need to keep the mouse pointers the same, but make the
blinking cursor more visible.
Thanks for your help.

Control Panel> Mouse> Pointers.
Scroll down through the Customize box to "Text Select" and click to
highlight it. Click the Browse button below the list. Select a cursor that
displays a large emphasized "i-beam."

You can broaden the cursor size (and change the blink rate) via
Control Panel \ Accessibility Options \ Display tab.
