Passwords not saved

Hi hoping someone can help - I am repeatedly having to key in my E Mail
passwords and Internet Connection password, despite ticking the "save
password" check box on the various set up screens.

I didn't have this issue with W98.

No doubt it's a simple fix, but despite several attempts I can't find the
solution.
